Fishing Charters

Experience the thrill of reeling in a 40-50 lb. salmon or battling a giant halibut, weighing in at up to 200+ lbs. Sooke offers some of the best salmon fishing in the world and is also known for its world-class halibut fishing. Many fishing charters are based out of Sooke Harbour Marina, approximately 30 minutes from our Resort.

Whale Watching

Looking for an exhilarating west coast marine adventure? Jump aboard a whale watching marine tour. These tours depart from the Sooke basin (approximately 30 minutes from our Resort) and explore the Strait of Juan de Fuca in search of Killer Whales, Porpoises, Gray and Humpback Whales as well as a handful of smaller marine life such as seals, sea lions and various species of birds. Show Cottage

Visit the Show Cottage to learn how you can make SookePoint Ocean Cottage Resort your home-away-from-home. The Show Cottage is located in #16B and is open 7 days a week, from 11 AM to 4 PM. Tours available daily.

Dining

The Village of Sooke, about a 30 minute drive from our Resort, offers a variety of dining experiences, from fine dining to pubs and cafes.

Ziplining

Need a little adventure in your life? Try soaring over the hills and majestic west coast rainforest of Sooke. Located within 30 minutes of our Resort, Adrena LINE Zipline Adventures will have you soaring from 150ft up to 1000ft through the trees. This experience is not only safe and family friendly but also provides you with memories that will last a lifetime.

Kayak Tours

Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and experience true serenity on the calm waters and scenic shoreline of the Sooke Basin, about 30 minutes from our Resort. Kayaking is one of the best ways to see marine life, eagles, and other various wildlife.

Geocaching

Spend an adventurous day completing the Road to SookePoint Geotour, and explore Sooke and East Sooke in this fun, family-friendly activity, which was created just for you by one of our team members. Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure-hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and try to find the geocache that is hidden at that location.

Golfing

Golf enthusiasts with find a pleasant mix of short, medium and championship golf courses within 30km of our Resort that can accommodate players of all skill levels. Find the balance between good quality, great value, challenge and playability on Vancouver Island.

Parks & Beaches

There are many stunning beaches and parks to be discovered in the Sooke Region including the easy-to-get-to Whiffen Spit but if you would like to go on a bit of an excursion to find something more secluded, try a trip to Botanical Beach, China Beach, French Beach, Sombrio Beach, or Mystic Beach.

Hiking

Some of the best hiking on Vancouver Island can be found right here in the Sooke Region. Vast networks of trails, some many well marked, some not, can take you on an adventure through the rainforest, beaches or up along Hurricane Ridge and the Kludak trails in the alpine zone.

East Sooke Regional Park

Located right next to the resort is East Sooke Regional Park. This park is the perfect place for locals and visitors alike to explore, with over 50km of trails there is something for everyone. You will also find pocket beaches, rocky bays, and tide pools to explore as well as spectacular views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Olympic Mountains.

Spas & Wellness

West Coast Wellness offers professional massage and wellness services for guests staying at SookePoint Ocean Cottage Resort. Let them pamper you sea-side in the privacy of your suite with a relaxation massage customized to your preference. Aromatherapy oils blends, spa music and steam towel included in treatment. Biking

As one of B.C’s largest growing municipalities, of its own modest size, Sooke is poised to become the outdoor recreation capital of Vancouver Island- with mountain biking as the prominent jewel in its heavily encrusted crown.
