ABOUT CONSTRUCTION AT SOOKEPOINT
SookePoint is currently in an active development phase as we continue building toward the full vision of the resort. Construction activity takes place during daytime hours only and pauses in the evenings and overnight. While construction may be visible in certain areas of the property, many guests find that once inside their private suite, the experience feels calm and quiet. Doors and windows significantly reduce exterior noise, allowing evenings to be spent enjoying the ocean views, wildlife, and sunsets.
We share this openly because we value transparency. Guests who choose to stay during this phase often do so knowing they will experience exceptional value and a less crowded, more peaceful version of the coastline.

PLANNING AHEAD: GROCERIES AND WHAT TO PACK
SookePoint’s remote location is part of its charm, but it does require a bit of advance planning. Grocery stores are approximately 30 to 45 minutes away, so we recommend shopping before you arrive, particularly if you plan to enjoy most meals in your suite.
Each accommodation includes a full modern kitchen (except for Studio Suites which offer a smaller kitchenette – still functional for cooking but not as grand), making it easy to settle in once you arrive. Many guests stop in Langford on their way, where there are several well-stocked grocery options.
When packing, think comfort and practicality. Coastal weather can change quickly, so layers are always a good idea. Waterproof or sturdy footwear will make exploring the forest trails and cove more enjoyable, and binoculars are a wonderful addition for wildlife viewing. Guests often appreciate having a personal robe or cover-up for relaxing indoors while enjoying the views.
A DIFFERENT KIND OF RESORT EXPERIENCE
At this stage of development, SookePoint is best described as a self-contained oceanfront retreat rather than a traditional full-service resort. While there is currently no on-site restaurant, spa, or pool, these amenities are part of the long-term vision and will be introduced as development continues.
For now, the focus is on privacy, space, and connection to the natural environment. Many guests find this simplicity refreshing, especially those looking to disconnect from busy schedules and crowded destinations.
