Is the resort accessible for people with mobility challenges?

At this time we do not have any fully accessible suites. Please note that guests will need to negotiate exterior stairs to access ALL cottages at SookePoint Ocean Cottage Resort. The Resort is built cliffside on the edge of the ocean and accessing some lower cottages require guests to descend numerous stairs.

Guests with mobility challenges should speak directly with our guest services team when making a reservation to ensure the cottage they reserve is accessible to them. Due to high occupancies, last minute changes to cottage assignments may not be possible.

Will I get an ocean view?

Yes! Each building at SookePoint Ocean Cottage Resort is built cliffside, situated overlooking the ocean. With only two or three suites per building at different angles and elevations, you'll get incredible views no matter if you are on the bottom or the top floor. Also, most of our suites at SookePoint offer a small balcony that you can step out onto (outdoor seating is not provided in all suites - it depends on how the owner furnishes their suite).

What is the difference between Pacific View and Coastline View?

Our Pacific View suites offer stunning views out towards Juan De Fuca Strait while our Coastline View suites offer beautiful ocean and shoreline views where you can watch the exhilarating wave action on the rocks.

Can I choose what Cottage Suite I stay in?

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee Cottage Suite room numbers or location until day of arrival. We are a unique vacation rental property with many different cottage suite styles. We try our very best to place guests in a suite that meets their needs based on their requests. We also have owners who stay in their cottages and last minute maintenance issues also arise which makes guaranteeing suite numbers difficult.

If you are planning to visit us at SookePoint, it is strongly recommended to pick up your groceries and supplies beforehand. There is a very small convenience store along the way, about 15 minutes from the Resort, and a larger grocery store about 30 minutes away in the middle of the Village of Sooke.

Yes, in-suite laundry is available in every Cottage Suite at SookePoint Ocean Cottage Resort.

Will I have internet access?

Yes! All of our Cottage Suites have their own wireless internet access.

Due to our remote location, some cell phone signals can be very weak or non-existent. Our close proximity to the US border means that guests often find service will be switched to a US provider while staying with us as this is the closest cell phone tower. We recommend turning off your data roaming, if you do not want to be charged US data fees, and instead using the complimentary WiFi provided in your cottage suite.

What amenities are at the Resort?

Currently, we have a gym facility that is open during office hours for our guests. In the future, we anticipate to have many more amenities as the developer continues building the Resort.
